Super excited to launch my new website today. It's been a long time comin' and I couldn't be more happy with it. Please check it out and let me know whatchya'll think. It's more of a vlogsite and therefore will be posting all new work on there. This will be my last post here on the ole' blog. I hope that you all enjoy the new site and the new work. A lot more to come. Big things happening in 2011. We're moving to NEW YORK in March and can't wait to see what the LORD is going to do with us out there. Super excited to shoot some East Coast weddings in the trees, the city, the snow, the country....it's going to spring forth some beautiful movies for you all to enjoy. Get ready for it! Thanks for all your love and support, it means a lot to me. I hope to see or meet you soon!

Heather & Dana

Heather & Dana were such a joy to shoot. You can tell how relaxed the whole day was. Things ran so smoothly. There's something about working with pregnant photographers that they are just so calm and collected. I love it. Dana and his guys were so easy going. Those guys have a lot of love for Dana and you can tell they were all super close. At the house with the girls was a very nice start to the day. Heather's girls were there for anything she needed. The emotions were high that day and I loved it. Dana was so overcome with love and care for his bride, he couldn't hold back his tears of joy. I especially loved this because it reminded me of the same way I felt as I too couldn't hold back my tears of joy for my bride on our wedding day. The ceremony was short and sweet. Their pastor was so real and held nothing back. A truly wise man he is. The reception was held at Dana's parents home just a few blocks from the park. A beautiful home over-looking the back bay in Newport Beach, CA. To top off the night...IN-N-OUT TRUCK!!! And a fry station! Geniuses these people. Almost everything was DIY by Heather. She did an amazing job and I'm thinking she should be a wedding designer. The dance floor was hoppin' with limbo & love. All in all it was a great day. Congratulations to you Heather & Dana. Shizuko & Eros

So it's official, we're moving to New York in march. We now have new friends there and here's a little sneak peak of those new friends. Shizuko & Eros are two of the most generous, geniune, caring people I've had the pleasure of meeting. It was such a wonderful honor to be able to capture their wedding and make a movie for them. The ceremony was a traditional Greek Orthodox ceremony and was very intimate. Their reception was amazing! Shizuko has a cousin who is an amazing break dancer and Eros has a cousin who is an amazing Zembekiko dancer. They had a dance off and both were equally awesome. I will try to get a featured post with the footage from the dance off later. The food, the people, the couple, all were amazing and wonderful to take part in. Congratulations to Shizuko & Eros. I want to hang out with Melissa & Brett all the time. They are great! This was by far the most relaxing, mellow, easy going, beautiful wedding I've been a part of. The day just seemed to flow so well. Probably because Brooke Keegan coordinated. There were so many amazing details to this wedding and I wish they could all fit in the preview. Melissa & Brett are such a wonderfully sweet couple and had me smiling the whole day. Other than randomly knowing some longtime friends at the wedding, they made me feel like I was part of the family. Tomi & Chris are such a joy to be around. They are both so kind, generous, loving, and genuinely care about people. I had an amazing time filming their wedding. The ceremony took place at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Pasadena, Ca. The same place that our beloved "Wedding Crashers" movie was filmed in. The Gothic architecture was unbelievable and inside was just as amazing! The reception took place at Tomi's parents mansion in the hills of Hacienda Heights, Ca. This place was gorgeous. Over looking the valley with fireworks going off in the distance. What a wonderful day. Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Seward!

I love this movie! Suzanna was the most excited bride ever. I could have filled up 10 minutes of video with just clips of her saying so herself. Her overwhelming joy for the day made it so easy to capture great moments. What a trooper too! We hiked to the top of a hill, in the dirt, her and Seth were all for it. High heels and all! The day was absolutely beautiful. The house, my goodness, was gorgeous! Seth & Suzanna + their family and friends were so much fun and so kind! Suzanna, I love your mother! Thank you Seth & Suzanna.

Rebecca & Doug are awesome! Rebecca's laugh makes you want to laugh and her sweetness is towards everybody. Doug is so laid back and rolls with anything. It was so nice to get away up to San Francisco for the weekend and spend the day with this lovely couple. I had such a wonderful time at this wedding and meeting the entire family. Rebecca's Mother is so full of love for these two and you can see the sparkle of joy in Doug's Mother's eyes. I hope you all truly enjoy this movie!

The other day I got my new 35mm lens adapter for my camera. Pretty stoked on that! For those of you who do not know what a 35mm lens adapter is, it is an adapter that I can put on my HD video camera that allows me to use 35mm SLR lenses. It gives that Shallow DOF (Blurred background) that cinema lenses and SLR cameras get. I wanted to go test it out but didn't really know what to shoot. While flipping through the internet I came across a vintage Diór commercial and got super inspired to shoot my amazingly beautiful wife, who should be in one of these commercials herself I think. So being the best wife in the world, trooper that she is, hater of being in front of the camera, we decided to go to a near by place that I had in mind. It's the only place in Costa Mesa that has nature! It was cold and windy, but we had a great time. At least I did. According to the movie, she looks like she had a good time. Obviously this piece is super close to my heart. I love my Wife more than anything and being able to make a movie of her that will last the rest of our life is something I've wanted to do since I met her. She inspires me in ways I can't explain. She supports me just the same.

Elisa y Mauricio

I had the pleasure of being able to capture some footage from Elisa & Mauricio's wedding a few weeks ago in Cuernavaca, Mexico. I put together this highlight movie for you all to enjoy the beauty and elegance of this vintage style wedding. Cuernavaca is "The City of The Eternal Spring". This town is absolutely beautiful and we had such a great time being there. My Wife was in the wedding so I decided to bring the camera along and shoot a little. The wedding took place at the Bride's family weekend home away from Mexico City. This property is way cool! I wish you could have all experienced it. This was my first "Mexican" wedding, besides my own, (kinda), and let me tell you IT. WAS. AWESOME! Everyone stayed on the dance floor until 3:30am. Around 1:30am the caterers brought out breakfast for all the guests that consisted of Chilaquiles and a short espresso. DELICIOUS! For those of you who do not know what Chilaquiles are, they are breakfast nachos! and those were the best ones I've ever had!

So, I put together this highlight movie for you all to watch and I really hope you like it. Like I said, the wedding was very Classy & Vintage so I wanted to make a movie that reflected it's style and taste. I processed this movie to look like 8mm film, but still with 16:9 aspect ratio. The music is the Bride's Grandmother, Monna Bell, who was a major Latin icon in the late 50's, 60's, & 70's for her Swinging Jazz & Blues songs. This song we feel goes great with the tone & beauty of the movie, and we thought it perfect for Elisa & Mauricio's movie to feature a song by her Grandmother. We love you guys and wish you all the best!

the KIMMEL family

This is my last post of 2009 and I have been so blessed this year. The LORD is doing so much in my wife & I's life. Things are going to be going strong come the first of the year and I'm so excited for the weddings i'm shooting next year. I can't wait to meet those of you I'm shooting for and make amazing movies for you. We are heading to Mexico for the next week to recharge and get ready for 2010. Merry Christmas to all and Happy New Year!

Triplets that you can't get enough of. Abbey, Wyatt, & Hudson are so stinkin adorable. I had so much fun shooting this family. We went down to a very old, historic part of the California coast that was built around the Catholic Mission. I've always loved this town and it was such a treat to be back there to shoot this family movie. Matt & Kelli are amazing! Two years ago, they were blessed by the LORD with triplets and haven't stopped since. The triplets were three little miracles and you can read all about their story HERE. Thank you Matt & Kelli for letting me be a part of your family day. Love you guys!

Ugly Sweater Party '09

We had such a fun time at the annual "Kimmel Ugly Sweater Party". I wish everyone that reads this could have been there. This year my wife and I decided that we wanted to do a Christmas Photo Booth for the party. So, we went out and bought wooden handheld masks and some other props for the photo booth. Yanessa decorated all the masks, that turned out freaking awesome!, and I set up and took all the pictures. Everyone was so fun in front of the camera. I love how they all got into the spirit and left the "shy" at home. I hope you all enjoy this fun little Christmas post.

I had the amazing opportunity to be a part of my friends, emily & chad's, wedding by being their videographer. I was so blessed on this day to see the love that these two have for one another. Their wedding had such and intimate feel, but with 200 people there. It was crazy! I got there at 3:30pm to start shooting and the wedding didn't start until 8pm that evening. I felt like we had all the time in the world, but as they started to take pictures and I started shooting it seemed that the day never stopped. Emily & Chad decided to do pictures together before the ceremony because the lighting is better than waiting till 9 to start. And they had to be out at 11pm. It was very cool being able to see Chad's reaction when he saw Emily for the first time in her wedding dress. He was so stunned and just kept saying how beautiful she looked and how good she smelled! haha! And when Emily saw Chad for the first time she just embraced him and held his head close to hers. I seriously had a blast that day. Everyone I worked with that day was more than awesome and made getting my shots a lot easier.

A Little Wife Time

The other day Yanessa and I decided to go for an afternoon photo shoot. We had a great time taking these photos and wanted to share a few of them with y'all. We have been so busy since we got married and really haven't had much time for ourselves. So we took the evening off from all the "STUFF" and relaxed with the sunset. It really is those times you get some fresh air that help you make it through the next couple months of smoggy air. I hope these photos do just that...relax you.

So the new camera is getting here today! I can't wait to shoot with it and show you guys how awesome it is. My Wife & I are really excited about this next season in our life. We both feel that the LORD has some really cool things he wants to do with us and we can't wait to see what it is.

To bring you up to speed, here is a little recap of the past 6 months.
I have always felt a draw towards film. I love the rawness about it. I love the way that you can capture a moment in time, hear the voices and see the colors & emotion. I love people and I want to be able to show that love that Jesus Christ gave me to others. Six months ago I felt a push in this direction. In April of 2009 I started CraftHouse Productions. My first project was my honeymoon. I put the whole video together strictly by the way the flow of it made me feel. I love that video, not just because it is my honeymoon, but because the way it makes me feel when I watch it and the way that other people feel when they watch it. My goal with CraftHouse Productions is just that. I want to use the gifts that I have been given to bring joy to people's lives.
